AIFS Marketing – Junior Designer
The American Institute For Foreign Study, Inc. (AIFS) is seeking a junior graphic designer to join their in-house marketing team. The junior designer will assist the design team in designing and updating marketing collateral including catalogs, flyers, posters, promotional items, advertisements and website imagery.

Job Requirements Include:

  • 1-3 years of related job experience. Will except applications from strong-skilled recent grads with internship experience.
  • BFA in Design or relevant experience
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • A good eye for detail and strong organizational skills
  • Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite including InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator. Knowledge of Dreamweaver a plus.
  • Knowledge of typography, color theories, marketing basics, art techniques and trends and printing process and specifications.

The Social Media Coordinator will be responsible for building, monitoring, responding, and trending all social interactions on AIFS digital channels.

AIFS Study Abroad – Admissions Officer
AIFS is recognized as a leading provider of study abroad programs. Since 1964, over 1.5 million students have traveled abroad with AIFS. With more than 50 years of experience, we have the resources and experience to provide what our students want and need in a study abroad program, and to safeguard their welfare around the globe.

The Admissions Officer is responsible for handling all aspects of the application and counseling process for each individual participant. This includes managing all pre-departure aspects of the assigned programs. The Admissions Officer reports to VP, Director of Admissions and Operations in the College Division.

Specific Job Duties Include:

  • Operates the programs assigned. Works simultaneously with the current program year, past program year and future program year
  • Continual customer service through phone, email and live chat. Fields any and all other questions from students, home institutions, parents, etc. Takes program specific calls as well as those coming in on the general line
  • Communicate on regular basis with college University Relations staff , AIFS support divisions, as well as AIFS London and onsite staff
  • Reviews complete applications for acceptance and notify students of admissions decision.

Au Pair in America – Seasonal Placement Coordinator
Au Pair in America (APIA) has been placing au pairs with American families since 1986. Au Pair in America is a leading provider of au pairs for over 5,000 host families each year.

The Seasonal Placement Coordinator works as part of the placement team to ensure maximize number of host families who applied to our program secure a placement with an available au pair. Each Placement Coordinator is responsible for host family accounts within a specific region of the country. Placement Coordinator identify the most compatible au pairs currently in the applicant pool, and proactively communicate with the Host Family via telephone, e-mail, and the Internet to finalize a match.

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Maintain daily awareness of host families accounts for which Placement Coordinator is responsible.Call host families based upon specific activity happening on host family account, or as part of daily routine to clarify selection parameters and to gain further information.

Camp America – Operations Assistant
Camp America, a division of AIFS, has been placing international students at summer camps throughout the United States for the past 40 years. Camp America is one of the leading providers of international camp staff.

Camp America has a great opportunity for two individuals from January/February until mid- August to be a part of the operations team facilitating the logistics for camp counselor international travels. As Operations Assistant, you will be responsible for entering flight arrangements, maintaining travel to camp instructions, and speaking with both camp directors and international counselors on a daily basis.

The position is a temporary position through mid-August. You must have the ability to work 9am 5pm, Monday Friday with occasional overtime on evenings and one day per weekend in June. The ideal candidate(s) must have strong attention to detail, a friendly and confident phone manner, positive attitude, an ability to juggle multiple projects at the same time, and knowledge of Microsoft Office programs.

Camp America – Operations Assistant II
Camp America, a division of AIFS, has been placing international students at summer camps throughout the United States since 1969, and is one of the leading providers of international camp staff.

Camp America has a great opportunity for an individual to join their operations team. In this position, you will interact with diverse students from around the world. As an Operations Assistant, you will perform various administrative tasks to help ensure compliance with the U.S. Department of States regulations for the visa program, and will assist with travel logistics for program participants.

The position is temporary, starting in January and ending in August. You must be willing to work overtime, including one day per weekend in June.

Cultural Insurance Services International (CISI) – Part-Time Administrative Assistant
Under the guidance of the Director of Operations, prepare medical claims for processing daily and maintain claim files.

Specific Duties:

  1. Open mail daily, date stamp and distribute correspondence accordingly. Receive medical claims for preparation. Work within claims system to look-up and/or add medical providers by tax identification number and insured participants by year, by group, by policy, by name.
  2. Verify insured eligibility for accurate entry by working within billing system and by coordinating with Plan Administrators for current insurance coverage dates.
  3. Convert foreign currency claims based on dates of service.
  4. Return and log claims for unidentifiable insureds to the appropriate party.
  5. Responsible for preparing, scanning and sending claims to Eldorado through a file transfer program. Claims are filed daily and files are to be maintained for 90 days before being shred.
  6. File daily processed claims.

We are looking for individuals to assist us in the AIFS Stamford office during our high season in administrative, customer service and sales roles. Au Pair in America – Community Counselor
We are looking for a passionate and community-minded individual interested in fostering inter-cultural exchange. This position requires a self-motivated individual to serve as a local representative in the community for Au Pair in America, the oldest and most respected au pair program in the USA. As a Community Counselor with APIA, you will discuss the program with potential host parents, schedule and conduct in-home interviews, explain program regulations, evaluate suitability of host families, assist host families in evaluating and selecting au pairs, and prepare them for the arrival of their au pair. You will facilitate the host family/au pair relationship and continue to educate and regularly communicate with all participants to ensure that program regulations are followed. In order to support adjustment, you will schedule and implement monthly meetings for au pairs to socialize and explore local cultural facilities. You will schedule smaller meetings as needed in order to problem solve and encourage adherence to program regulations.

As a Community Counselor with APIA, you must be able to work independently and effectively within your local area. You must have exceptional networking, intercultural communication, and writing skills. Enthusiasm, flexibility, and innovation are necessary in your approach to problem solving. You must have a high energy level, a real passion for cultural exchange and in-depth knowledge of your community in order to advise participants of available resources. Additional requirements for the position include:

Specific Job Duties Include::

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Minimum 5 years work experience in communications, intercultural exchange, education, social work, family counseling and/or working with young adults preferred
  • Reliable transportation
  • Excellent organizational skills and computer abilities
  • Ability to provide interim room and board for au pairs in case of emergencies
  • Previous international study, work and/or cultural immersion experience preferred
  • Community volunteering and networking experience a plus
