Au Pair in America – Seasonal Placement Coordinator
The Seasonal Placement Coordinator works as part of the placement team to ensure maximize number of host families who applied to our program secure a placement with an available au pair. Each Placement Coordinator is responsible for host family accounts within a specific region of the country. Placement Coordinator identify the most compatible au pairs currently in the applicant pool, and proactively communicate with the Host Family via telephone, e-mail, and the Internet to finalize a match.
- Maintain daily awareness of host families accounts for which Placement Coordinator is responsible. Call host families based upon specific activity happening on host family account, or as part of daily routine to clarify selection parameters and to gain further information.
- Answer phone of incoming customer calls throughout the day. Follow up and proactive contact with families and counselors thoughout selection process to help family secure placement.
- Maintain professional and upbeat attitude on customer calls.
Camp America – Orientation Staff

Camp counselors and support staff from all over the world teach a variety of skills at camp and bring with them their own unique cultures.
Camp America, seeks Seasonal Orientation Staff to work at a hotel in Fairfield, NJ approximately May 23rd – July 1st. Camp America brings over 3,000 international participants to attend an orientation at our arrivals hotel. Employees will have the opportunity to meet university students from around the world while gaining valuable work experience. Participants spend a night at our orientation hotel where they will learn even more about our program through an orientation and meet fellow staff before heading off to camp throughout the United States to share their culture with others. This is the perfect seasonal job for those interested in the fields of international relations, foreign studies and languages, hotel management, travel and tourism and more.
Summer Instute for the Gifted (SIG) – Seasonal Travel Coordinator
The mission of the Summer Institute for the Gifted is to provide the highest quality educational and social opportunities for academically gifted and talented students through programs designed to meet their abilities and needs. SIG is seeking a Seasonal Travel Coordinator/Airport Greeter to meet and greet students traveling domestically and internationally to the JFK, Bradley, and Newark airports in NY, CT, and NJ to our programs hosted at Yale, Princeton and Vassar.
The Coordinator/Greeter will meet groups of SIG students in the baggage area and ensure that they arrive safely to the prearranged shuttle service (the Coordinator/Greeter will not be transporting students). The shuttle service will take the students to their respective campus locations. Greeters will have the opportunity to meet campers from around the world while gaining valuable work experience. This is the perfect seasonal job for those interested in working in education, camp administration or the travel industry. Greeters may work on Fridays, Saturdays, and/or Sundays depending on the camp opening and closing dates. Training will take place in the Stamford, CT office and greeters will be required to spend at least 10-15 hours a week in the central office to assist with meet and greet organization and as well as provide programmatic support to the Vice President. The Coordinator/Greeter will be paid hourly, be reimbursed for mileage to and from the airport, be reimbursed for any airport parking fees incurred as well have a per-diem meal allowance.

The American Institute For Foreign Study (AIFS) facilitates international exchange and educational programs throughout the world. Some of our programs include Camp America, College Study Abroad, Academic Year in America, AuPair in America and Summer Institute for the Gifted.
We are looking for individuals to assist us in the AIFS Stamford office during our high season in administrative, customer service and sales roles. Candidates applying for our seasonal positions will need to have strong attention to detail and excellent customer service skills. Previous administrative experience is a plus. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs is a must. These positions will be required to work overtime and on weekends throughout the summer.

Au Pair in America – Community Counselor
We are looking for a passionate and community-minded individual interested in fostering inter-cultural exchange. This position requires a self-motivated individual to serve as a local representative in the community for Au Pair in America, the oldest and most respected au pair program in the USA. As a Community Counselor with APIA, you will discuss the program with potential host parents, schedule and conduct in-home interviews, explain program regulations, evaluate suitability of host families, assist host families in evaluating and selecting au pairs, and prepare them for the arrival of their au pair. You will facilitate the host family/au pair relationship and continue to educate and regularly communicate with all participants to ensure that program regulations are followed. In order to support adjustment, you will schedule and implement monthly meetings for au pairs to socialize and explore local cultural facilities. You will schedule smaller meetings as needed in order to problem solve and encourage adherence to program regulations.
As a Community Counselor with APIA, you must be able to work independently and effectively within your local area. You must have exceptional networking, intercultural communication, and writing skills. Enthusiasm, flexibility, and innovation are necessary in your approach to problem solving. You must have a high energy level, a real passion for cultural exchange and in-depth knowledge of your community in order to advise participants of available resources. Additional requirements for the position include:
Specific Job Duties Include::
- Bachelor's degree
- Minimum 5 years work experience in communications, intercultural exchange, education, social work, family counseling and/or working with young adults preferred
- Reliable transportation
- Excellent organizational skills and computer abilities
- Ability to provide interim room and board for au pairs in case of emergencies
- Previous international study, work and/or cultural immersion experience preferred
- Community volunteering and networking experience a plus
