Au Pair in America has been placing au pairs with American
families in 36 states since 1986. Au Pair in America is a
division of the American Institute For Foreign Study®
(AIFS), the world’s leading international exchange and
travel company. Au Pair in America is a leading provider of
au pairs for over 5,000 host families each year.
APIA is quickly expanding and looking to fill a newly created
position for a Placement Services Coordinator. The
PSC guides the host families through the process of selecting
their new au pair starting with finding applications of compatible
au pairs through an online matching system, presenting them
to the family via internet, email or mail, advising them
on the VISA processes and cultural issues, and ending with
the match of a family and an au pair. To help facilitate
an efficient and smooth match between a host family and an
au pair, PSC’s proactively contact host families, become
familiar with host family needs and preferences, review au
pair files selected by automated system, provide feedback
and guidance to host families throughout the process, liaise
with our London office headquarters regarding au pair placements
when necessary, become familiar with the VISA application
process for each country.
The right applicant will be detail oriented, organized,
be able to work independently and be a team player. Customer
service and sales experience required. Must be able
to handle multiple priorities and be able to work effectively
on the telephone. Excellent verbal, listening and problem
solving skills a must! Experience with Microsoft Word,
Lotus Notes, database systems, e-mail, and the Internet helpful. Minimum
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education required.
