AIG Offers Full Scholarships to Gifted Summer Program
STAMFORD, CT – The Summer Institute for the Gifted (SIG) today announced that American International Group, Inc. (AIG) will provide 50 full scholarships to academically advanced students in grades four through 11 from families with limited incomes to attend a three-week SIG program in 2007.
To qualify for the AIG Scholarship to SIG, students must score at the 95th percentile or above on any nationally standardized test or sub-test. If no testing is available or if test scores are slightly lower than the 95th percentile, students may submit grades and recommendations as alternative evidence of their giftedness. Students must qualify for free or reduced-fee lunch at their schools to be eligible for the scholarship.
Students must submit all application materials by April 1, 2007. Selected students will be notified of their status by May 1, 2007.
For more information about the AIG Scholarship Program, contact SIG at (866) 303-4744, ext. 5159 or by e-mail at sig.info@giftedstudy.com. More information is also available online at www.giftedstudy.com.
Summer Institute for the Gifted (SIG) is an outstanding opportunity for gifted students to have important academic, social and cultural experiences that help develop their unique talents. In addition, these programs help prepare students for college and enhance their applications for admissions. These experiences are particularly critical for disadvantaged gifted students who, without these opportunities, would not be able to reach their full potential.
SIG offers a prestigious three-week residential program for gifted children in grades four through eleven, hosted by nine of America’s finest college campuses: Amherst College, Bryn Mawr College, Drew University, Emory University, Princeton University, UC-Berkeley, UCLA, University of Michigan, and Vassar College. SIG is a subsidiary of the American Institute For Foreign Study (AIFS) and is headquartered in Stamford, Connecticut. Visit SIG on the web at www.giftedstudy.com.
