The Summer Institute for the Gifted (SIG) is a unique and prestigious three-week residential or day, co-educational, summer program for academically talented students in grades kindergarten through eleven. SIG began in 1984 with a single session in New Jersey and has expanded over the past twenty-three summers to include eleven residential sessions in seven states and five day programs. SIG's mission is to provide the highest quality educational and social opportunities for academically gifted and talented students through programs designed to meet their abilities and needs.

SIG programs are held at Amherst College, Bryn Mawr College, Emory University, Princeton University, UC Berkeley, UCLA, University of Michigan, UT Austin, Vassar College, and other prestigious colleges and universities.
SIG provides a well-rounded program for gifted students by combining academics, social, cultural and recreational opportunities.
Students not only study traditional subjects, but also might encounter Harry Potter & Tolkien, build a model rocket, perform comedy improvisation, and learn in many other active and unique ways. Learning is fun!
SIG faculty includes college and university professors, educators of the gifted, professional practitioners, and experts from specific fields.
Students experience the energy and excitement of campus life. While every campus is different, each has a computer lab, science facilities, library, indoor pool, tennis courts and playing fields.
