Study Abroad Organization Now Offering J-Term Programs
- 3-week study abroad programs to begin in January 2014 -

STAMFORD, CT – MARCH 7, 2013 – The American Institute For Foreign Study (AIFS), a leading study abroad organization, today announced the offering of six January Term college study abroad programs beginning in 2014.

AIFS' new January Term (J-Term) programs are offered in San Jose, Costa Rica; London, England; Cannes, France; Paris, France; Florence, Italy; and Granada, Spain. Students looking to make the most out of their winter break can earn three transferable credits during the three-week long programs, each beginning the first week in January.

"January Term study abroad programs have increased in popularity in recent years, due in large part to their shorter program length and one subject focus," states William L. Gertz, President and CEO of AIFS. "We feel students will be excited about being able to now experience high-quality AIFS programming between their fall and spring semesters."

January Term has become an ideal time to study abroad for some students as the dates do not interfere with the traditional academic calendar and they are still able to experience some of the benefits they would receive from a semester length study abroad program.

Students are encouraged to enroll as early as possible, as openings on each campus are limited. The deadline for applications is October 1, 2013.

In addition to the new January Term program, AIFS offers study abroad programs during the summer, semester and academic year. And as with all AIFS programs, January Term programs are comprehensive and include housing, meals, transcripts, insurance and built-in cultural activities and excursions.

AIFS offers study abroad programs in Argentina, Australia, Austria, Botswana, Brazil, Chile, China, Costa Rica, Cuba, Czech Republic, England, France, Germany, Greece, India, Ireland, Italy, New Zealand, Peru, Russia, South Africa, Spain and Turkey. Scholarships and financial aid are available.
